Sign Health Uganda (SU) is an NGO formed in 2009, to promote equitable access to social services and opportunities for Deaf children and their families in Uganda through advocacy, cost effective and sustainable services. The primary target group are young deaf people and their families. The secondary target groups are partner institutions especially these working in areas of deafness to share on emerging issues, best practices and research.
Mission
Promoting and inspiring partnerships and innovations that achieve equitable access to inclusive social services and opportunities for deaf and deafblind people. This is implemented through capacity building and mobilisation of families and committees of deaf and deafblind people.

A society where deaf and deafblind people enjoy equal rights and opportunities.
What We Do
Education Support
Deaf children of age between 3 – 6 years are attending pre-school classes being taught by professional teachers. With regular monitoring of the programme, efforts are made to ensure that deaf children receive the best possible formal education in their early years. Currently the pre-school programme
Parent Support
A family provides the best learning environment for children’s cognitive development in their early years. SignHealth Uganda is working closely with National Association of Parents of Deaf Children (NAPADEC)
Health Support
Communication has been a major concern for the Deaf in accessing health services. SignHealth Uganda is committed to bridge the communication gap in health
